| Notes: Another Italian wine I found I liked. It was a hit with Marg and Joe too. I feel really good when a wine pleases them, because they are fussy about their wines. Once again, the wine did not break the bank, was a good, dinner wine. It's a good wine to have on a chilly evening. Very flavorful and good body. |

 |
| Notes: this was a recommendation from alexis, it cost me no more than 8$, if i recall, at the 40th street store. portugal is not known for their whites, ive learned but eh, whatever, i like this a whole lot.
the aveleda is practically a newborn and super crisp white wine that just reminds me of apples all around, kind of like how the term "single note" applies to certain kinds of perfumes. no stinging afterbite here and a little bit of a bubble to it.
what i ate: really basic salad [spring greens, vidalia onions, tomato, walnut, shaved pepato pecorino, dressed with brianna's "new american" dressing] at home. it was a nice foil to the spiciness of the dressing & cheese with any sharpness. im sure food with a little sharp or acidic flavor to it would work beautifully here. definately not a wine you'd try with any sort of heavy food! |

| Notes: Opened up the 1st, of 3 in November 2005. After letting it breath in the decanter for 20-30 minutes, dove in.
Berry aroma's. Tannins were very mild, mostly on the finish. Slight hint of vanilla, but mostly berry. |

| Notes: Difficult. Light bodied, and high acidity and tannin. Smells like wine...no real distinct nose (maybe a little berry). Did not go well with food. Acidity and Tannin really detract from any flavor. |

| Notes: This was the Winemakers Reserve. Desert nose, reminants of a cakey desert. Very oaky (woody maybe cedar on the nose)Classic CA Pinot taste. Sweet cherry? Good to drink on its own and might be good in place of a Zin for food. |

 |
| Notes: The broad texture is there when this is first poured, with light, tangy strawberry and red currant flavors feeling lean against the full tannins. Then air fills out the fruit with a generous, dry savor, the wine feeling as cool as the redwood forest floor in the western stretches of the Russian River Valley. Drink 2007 - 2009 |

 |
| Notes: The deep ruby-colored 2003 Syrah Estate possesses more of a Pinot Noir sensibility than most of its peers. Revealing a feminine style with hints of sweet black currants, ripe cherries, and flowers in a medium-bodied,
velvety-textured, complex, ethereal format, it is a distinctive California Syrah to enjoy over the next 4-5 years. |

| Notes: This wine is delicious! The nose has dark fruit and black berry character, but I can also smell some alcohol. The texture is velvet with soften tannins and great dark fruit flavors. I wouldn't let this age too much more. |
