There is a New Vodka in Town and It's Literally Made from Fog

FOG POINT is a true expression of California, distilled. It represents the HANGAR 1 commitment to preserving the fragile ecology of its home state.

In the face of the California drought, and given fresh water is the most precious ingredient in vodka (over 60% of it), the team at Hangar 1 Vodka has launched Hangar 1 Fog Point to build awareness of an innovative, alternative water source,with exciting future applications in the Bay Area and farther afield.

To create Fog Point, Hangar 1 installed its own fog catchers across the Bay Area to turn fog into fresh water. A fog catcher consists of a precision-engineered mesh canvas that is stretched out on a frame, then erected high in the air at a location rich in pure fog. As fog drifts through the mesh, millions of beads of moisture are caught in its fibers.

The resulting water is then blended with vodka distilled from premium wine sourced from Bonny Doon, a sustainable vineyard on the Central Coast. This revolutionary experiment yields an extraordinarily crisp and pure sipping vodka with elegant hints of pear, citrus, and honeysuckle.

All profits from Hangar 1 Fog Point will be donated to the expansion of sustainable water applications, including the installation of more fog catchers around the Bay Area.
